Finding Porpoise

What's your porpoise?

About porpoise

What is a porpoise? Well, for this website's porpoises, it's a word that is intentionally misused in place of the word "purpose" because they obviously sound very similiar, and we wouldn't be surprised if anyone had any slight trouble trying to pronounce either and had to think twice about it. Purpose? Purpoise? Porpous? I believe this ongoing joke started when I admitted that I sometimes had to think about how to say the word "porpoise" because I was prone to saying "poipous," however you spell that. Then Jen gave me a comic of a guy approaching a spiritual man complaining that he'd requested to know the "purpose of life," not "porpoise of life," and of course, a porpoise was in the comic. Unfortunately I don't have the slightest clue as to where that comic is, but if I find it, I'll be sure to share it. And now, both Jen and I are kind of stagnate in life, stuck in a transition period between finishing college and entering the working realm. Yes, we're here to find porpoise. "Finding Porpoise" also alludes to the Disney film "Finding Nemo," in that they both share a similar title and involve finding an aquatic creature.

We're not marine biologists, but we know that oftentimes, "porpoise" and "dolphin" are used interchangeably. There are plenty of "Porpoise vs. Dolphin" pages that list the differences between a porpoise and a dolphin. One of the main differences is that dolphins have a protruding mouth (or beak) and porpoises don't have beaks. And there are other differences like their teeth formation, fin shapes and sizes, and other biological functions.

We had little direction on where to go with this website. In fact, we're just kind of making it up as we go along. The most frequently updated portion of this site would have to be the blog, which provides life tips and other miscellaneous goodies that we just happen to think of.

Suggestions are always welcome. If there is something you'd like to see in the blog or on the website, please contact us.
